Elastic shock absorber for wheel suspensions - with telescoping guide parts and elastic suspension sleeve of cellular elastomer

Elastic shock absorber, esp. for wheel suspensions in automobiles, has two telescoping guide parts one being connected to the automobile bodywork, and the other to a suspension swing arm, and an elastic suspension sleeve that is placed between the guide parts, consists of a single block of cellular elastomer, e.g. polyurethane, with a high compression resistance, and encloses a guide so that the compression and relaxation movements of the device are simultaneously checked by the friction of the sleeve on the enclosed part, and by the inner damping of the sleeve. Cheap and simple manufacture, Esp. suitable for light automobiles for use in towns, as satisfactory shock absorption and riding compact is provided in a small space. Avoids use of metal springs and hydraulic/pneumatic shock absorbers.
