Beet from the digger are directed towards the centre of the rotary grille, thus preventing them from falling outside on to the ground. The beet are loaded on to the rotary grille (5) by the share (12) which is upstream of the grille, the beet tending to be thrown off the latter by centrifugal force or knocked off by other beet being directed towards the centre of the grille by part (8) of bar (7). Any which have fallen into the furrow cut by disc (4) are recovered by share (12) and returned to the grille. Since tine (7b) and share (12) are both spring loaded, no beet or stone can remain lodged between them to damage the machine.
