The rack has triangular supports held in shape by tongues engaging in slots at the base. The tongues are cut out on three sides from the sloping portions of the supports. The flat-folded racks (2) are stored in a hopper (10), and extracted one-by-one from the bottom. They are then transported by endless conveyor belts (12, 14,15) between fixed devices pressing them into shape. The conveyor can comprises two belts between which the central portion of the rack is gripped, and the flat-folded racks can pass between two rollers rotating in synchronism (18, 19) with bosses on them pressing the tongues out from the sheet material.
