Pyrolysing organic wastes under partial vacuum - using part of waste as fuel, esp carbon black from scrap tyres, or copper or aluminium from cables
In the parent patent, industrial organic wastes are utilised by dividing the waste into 2 portions. The 1st portion is heated at 350-1000 degrees C (400-700 degrees C) in a sealed reactor, in a non-oxidising atmos. until the residue contains 2-12% volatiles, the rest being C, the volatile matter is recovered, e.g. by condensation. The 2nd portion is burned, opt. after addn. of fuel, and the combustion gases are used to heat the 1st reactor. In the patent of addtn., the pyrolysis is carried out under partial vacuum. The waste may be scrap tyres, or Cu or Al cabies with plastic sheaths. Recovery of C black from scrap tyres is claimed.
