The heat engine monitoring system takes measurements from the engine under test, calculates performance parameters and automatically draws curves of these parameters. Electrical signals from a torque meter and a speed meter are fed into a calculator which passes an electrical signal level corresponding to the engine power to an X-Y plotter. Signals from a fuel consumption gauge and the 'power' calculator are combined by a second calculator to provide a signal corresponding to the specific fuel consumption, which is the second input to the X-Y plotter. A chart recorder records the fuel consumption on one track and the specific fuel consumption on the second track.
