Continuous fibre reinforced pipe mfr - dry laid longitudinal fibres carded by combs along mandrel

Method is applicable to glass fibre reinforced plastic pipe, or to other sectional material. The filaments are supplied through distributing feeders and maintained in even parallel array on the mandrel by the combs. The pipe is drawn through an impregnator and sizing and curing die by a traction device. Pref. an intermediate layer of helically wound filaments is laid between inner and outer layers of longitudinal filaments. Resin is supplied internally through the mandrel as well as externally through the impregnator. The mandrel is anchored to a rear post and can float angularly. Additional carding grooves are formed on the mandrel. Even distribution of the fibres and uniformity of section are ensured.
