The building component e.g. module for wall building or paving is of a ship's biscuit form with opposed major faces resp plane (2) and convex (3). Pef. the unit has a unique plane of symmetry (4) with its maximum depth locating in this plane, its plan form is irregularly oval and oblate, and its sides form an angle of slightly less than 90 deg. with the plane major face (2). The unit can be used for informal slabbing either with the plane or oblate skid resistant surface exposede.g. crib type walls with alternate courses staggered and inverted, or featuring inclined courses, curved courses and motifs contg. progressively rotating units.
