A partition parallel to the flow direction of the two gas flows separates two gas flow passages, and two further partitions parallel to the flow direction but transverse to the first partition separate the passage inlets and separate the passage outlets. Between the partitions are shutters which are selectively moved to direct the gas flows to one of the two passage outlets and to direct the flows along one of the passages.
