The wooden staircase has its treads mounted on wooden supports attached to the stringers, with one support each end of each tread. The angle of the treads can be determined at the moment of scuring the supports by screws to the stringers. Thus the angle of the stringers can be varied within limits to match the height of the staircase. The system can be adapted to a staircae with a central stringer. It can be used with intermediate landings. The number of treads is correspondingly selected.
