Automatic fishing rod with hydraulic motor - has main valve controlled by valve stoppable by auxiliary valve

An automatic fishing rod has a hydraulic motor comprising a vaned shaft dividing a housing into chambers to and from which hydraulic fluid is passed by a three position main valve. The motor is used to pivot the shaft which carries fishing tackle. The main valve is positioned by a control valve operated in response to a predetermined change in load on the fishing tackle, so that the fishing tackle is moved between fishing and retracted positions. Swinging of the shaft is limited by an actuator on the shaft engaging an auxiliary valve which stops working of the control valve.
