The device to chamfer inner edge of cut' off tube is mounted on the shaft of the chamfering drill. A threshold sleeve screwing into the body permits adjustment of the depth to which the tube is chamfered. A centering piece ensures concentricity of the drill with the tube. Chamfering is carried out by pushing the end of the tube into an inlet piece. The inlet piece is fixed to the central section which slides rearwards against springs until an end thus precisely repeatable. Bearings permit the drill to be driven in rotation, for example by the assembly being mounted in a lathe.
