Torque transmission spigots for telescopic drive shaft - have roller beari mounting for low friction losses against engaging keyway

A telescopic drive shaft has two concentric tubes which slide axially inside one another. At mid-position of the outer tube (15) three equally spaced radial location holes for roller bearing mounted spigots (17) are provided. A flange of each spigot is engaged in an axial keyway (12) which are on the outside of the inner tube. A linear bearing cage (20) between the inner and outer tube near the extension end of the assembly provides radial location together with the bearing spigots (17). The torque which is transmitted between the two tubes is transferred by the spigots (17) and the roller bearings (19).
