A system by means of which loading or charging of ceramic tiles or flagstones onto saggars can be expedited has at least one tile or flagstone layed on to a support plate or flat surface. This support plate or surface is then transported to a saggar and then lowered onto the surface of the saggar on at least one of its edges. The support plate is then slid away from the tile or flagstone leaving it supported on its edge within the saggar. A stack of tiles may be moved in a rectangular shaped transporter box in which the support plate is slid.
