The combination spanner has two heads in one, each being independently manipulated, ie. rotated or held secure, by using lever arms (2, 16). The spanner may be used on certain automobile brake fittings with double headed eccentric bolt fasteners. The head comprises an assembly of an outer ring spanner head (1, 3) an inner socket spanner head (9, 13) and an intermediate knurled (7) spacer sleeve (4). The inner socket element (9) is eccentric relative to the axis of the outer ring (1). All three components can rotate freely relative to one another. The inner socket element (9) may slide axially relative to the spacer sleeve (4) and the outer ring (1). The outer ring (1) may be fixed (8) in the axial sense to the spacer sleeve (4). Sliding of the inner socket may be limited by a washer (17) engaging the spacer and by radial flange (14) engaging the leading edges of the spacer sleeve.
