The process comprises introducing the neck of the bottle into a rotating nozzle so that it can be grabbed by a clamp on a pivotal arm. As the arm pivots it pulls the bottle through the nozzle os that the bottle is subjected to a torsional and a longitudinal force. The amplitude of movement of the arm is longer than the length of the bottle. Handling and reprocessing of the bottle is simplified, compared with using a press to compact them. Pref. the nozzle has a polygonal aperture and pref. the clamp also rotates.
