Imitation plastics roof tiling - has base layer of butted U channel tiles with joints covered by overlapping semicircular tiles

The imitation roof tiling is made from plastics and uses two types of tile. The base layer of tiles (1) are placed on longitudinal supporting rafters (3) and have a squat U channel shape. The bottom end of each side wall of the tile is notched or protrudes (4,5) so that adjacent tiles interlock. The butt join between adjacent lower tiles is covered by overlapping semicircular tiles (2). Regular lateral slats prevent the base layer from sliding down the roof and notches between the semicircular tiles and the base tiles fix the upper layer in position.
