1518174 Disperse benzthiazole monoazo dyes IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 1 June 1976 [28 July 1975] 31530/75 Heading C4P Novel disperse monoazo dyestuffs have the formula wherein T is lower alkyl, T' is hydrogen or lower alkyl, n is 1 or 2, Z is hydrogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, Y is hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, chlorine, bromine, -NHCOXSP1/SP or -NHSO 2 XSP2/SP,XSP1/SP is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, amino or N-lower alkylamino, XSP2/SP is lower alkyl, ASP1/SP and ASP2/SP are each independently lower alkylene, RSP1/SP and RSP3/SP are each independently lower alkyl or hydroxyalkyl containing from 2 to 4 carbon atoms and RSP2/SP and RSP4/SP are each hydroxyalkyl containing from 2 to 4 carbon atoms. The dyes are prepared by diazotization and coupling, and give yellow to reddish-blue shades on mass coloration of aromatic polyesters or on colouring synthetic textiles e.g. aromatic polyesters.
