摘要
The thermodynamic system functions as a heat pump, compressing a medium in the gaseous state, this being then condensed by yielding up heat to a heat source. Part at least of the medium when condensed is expanded at low pressure, and then vapourised by deriving heat from a cold source, after which the vapour is recompressed. The medium used is a non-azeotropic mixture containing a number of pure elements, which are thermally and chemically stable at the various temperatures and pressures in the cycle. When partly condensed or vapourised, it comprises single vapour and liquid phases, both homogeneous. The elements are so selected as to give a mixture which is at least partly vaporisable and condensable, and to be always soluble in mixture in the liquid state.
