Composite elastic covers for sealing reinforced concrete structures - to tolerate surface cracks or shifts without cracking

Sealing the surfaces by structures made of reinforced or prestressed concrete by covering the surface with a film of elastic material protected on each face by a bonded non-woven fabric layer. The surface adjacent to the concrete is bonded by a hot coating adhesive, pref. hot aerated bitumen. For covering the surfaces of bridges or other road-bearing structures, the upper surface is coated with a road-dressing compsn. To seal concrete structures against moisture or other environmental chemicals which could degrade the reinforcing elements within the concrete structure. The elastic layer can be accommodate minor movements or surface cracking of the concrete without losing seal integrity.
