An egg sorter feed device has a frame (3) carrying a flat ribbed belt (6) which runs over a roller each end, the driving end (5) forming a pivot (4) for the frame. The other end (7) has limited movement and a stop (12) pivoting on one end (13) of a lever which pivots (15) on the frame and is fitted with an adjustable counterweight (17). The system is set so that, as eggs increase on the belt, their weight depresses the frame against a switch (19) to stop or start upstream feed devices.
