Articulated arm scissors jack - has lower arms with cams working together allowing sideways movement of head

The articulated scissors jack has lower arms pivoting on a base on axis parallel to a centre line. These arms (8, 11) work together by means of a cam mechanism (82, 112) so as to allow the head (1) of the jack to move in relation to the centre line (P) when raised. The cams can be shaped so that the amount of this movement increases as the head is raised. One of the cams may be mounted on one arm, moving in a recess in the opposite arm which forms the other cam.
