The machine includes the drawing die, a component applying lubricant to the wire, and an air flow dust extractor. These components are mounted in axial alignment on the die holder. The lubricator and the dust extractor are located resp. fore and aft of the die. The dust extractor has an extraction conduit which aligns co-axially with the die aperture. A conduit leading to an air extractor is connected to the extraction conduit. The extractor may have a hollow cylindrical housing. The housing may be mounted on the die holder and may contain the extraction conduit. The latter conduit may have an inner tube which is stopped short of the connection between the extractor housing and the die holder.
