Fuel supply stabiliser for IC engines - has overflow system to return excess fuel or vapour to fuel tank

The carburettor (c) is supplied by the electric motor driven pump (1) which draws petrol from the tank (R). The velocity of the fuel in the pipe is reduced in the vessel (4) of relatively large diameter compared with the pipe. Excess fuel is allowed to overflow into the atmospheric vessel (P) which returns the fuel to the tank through the pump (L). Petrol vapour may be drawn off from the vessel (V) and condensed and returned to the fuel tank through the atmospheric tank (P). The system ensures a constant supply of fuel independent of high acceleration or braking.
