The garden-stake (1) is in three sections. The top one has holes (2) in to enable the plant to be tied, or supported by a ladder of horizontal rungs inserted in them. The middle section has a stabilising-washer (7a) which can be moved up and down. The washer (7a) has two notches in it to enable the washer to slide between downward-pointing catches (8) on the section. By turning the washer (7a) it can be fixed underneath any catch (8) at a level above the pointed-ended bottom section (6) depending on the hardness of the ground and the size of the plant being supported. The sections are fixed together by stop-pieces in the bottom end inserted into cavities in the top end of the adjacent section. The cavities in the top ends have skewed portions at the bottom for interlocking the sections.
