The bed-settee has a hingeing metal support frame and is divided into three longitudinal frame panels (7,15,20). The panels hinge (12,14,22,23) relative to one another about transverse axes, and the composite frame adapts a Z-shape at partial collapse. The seat comprises a vertical stack of the three panels. The mattress is in two longitudinal sections, and the head panel (7) is mounted on a collapsible table (3 to 11). The two end panels have a hingeing 'U' frame leg (30,28). A linkage system automatically deploys the legs (30,28) as the bed is extended. When the bed panels are retracted, the table (3 to 11) collapses.
