Joint between reinforcing rubber pipe and metal flange - has reinforcing cord wound round metal ring fixed with screws

The rubber pipe is for accommodating relative movement between pipes with reinforcing wires which extend from one end to the other. These wires are looped around a metal ring embedded in the rubber which is afterwards vulcanised. The end of the rubber pipe is formed into a flange clamped by bolts and a metal flange. An embedded ring has tapped holes to receive screws which fix the outer metal ring. This ring is provided with a small radial flange welded to the larger bolted flange. For lighter loads only one row of bolts is necessary.
