1423599 Circular saw blade SANDVIK AB 11 Dec 1973 [27 Dec 1972] 57423/73 Heading B5L A circular metal saw blade comprises a base plate 1 with cutting elements 3 at its peripheral edge, and a metal covering-plate 2 concentrically assembled to the base-plate 1 by gluing, the covering-plate being incurved or indented concentrically with the plate. In one embodiment the plate 2, Fig. 2, has annular indentations 4 and is received in an annular recess 8 in the plate 1. The edges of the plate 2 are inturned at 7 and the indentations 4 are glued to the base of the recess 8 or partially received in annular grooves therein. The radial distance d between indentations 4 and between these and the edges of the plate 2 is such that 2(#Ebc/G)#d#(#Ebc/G) where E is Young's modulus of elasticity for the plate 2,b is the thickness of the glue layer 5, c is the thickness of the plate 2, and G is the modulus of rigidity of the glue layer 5. The thickness of plate 2 is preferably SP1/SP/ 10 the thickness of plate 1. The glue may be epoxy resin. In a second embodiment the indentations 4 are replaced by arcuate slots 9, Fig. 5, having inturned edges.
