Novel disperse dyes anthraquinone series contain a substit. of formula (I) in a beta-position of the anthraquinone ring; and substits. in the other positions usual in disperse dyestufs chemistry. In the formula R1 is -O- or -S-; R2 is opt. branched 2-12C alkylene in which the carbon chain may be contain 1,2 or 3 ether bridges or 1:3- or 1:4-phenylene gps; R3 is linear 2 or 3C alkylene or alkenyl opt. carrying up to 2 Me gps. or 1 OH, phenyl or halogen as substituents, or 1:2-cyclohxylene gp. opt. carrying 1 Me gp., or 1:2-phenylene gp. opt. carrying up to a 2 halogen atoms, or a 1:8-naphthylene gp. or a gp. of formula.
