Geothermal heat and power prodn. - utilise deep hot water wells drilled in Limagne Basin

The process is for the production of power and heat, and utilises the deep hot waters from the Limagne Basin. Wells are drilled to identify and exploit the permeable strata containing geothermal water, which in the basin concerned can reach temperatures above 100 deg.C. Tubes are incorporated in the wells to prevent cave-ins, together with strainers for the water, and the tubes can be of stainless steel or coated to protect them against corrosion by the water.
