The telephone service administration is able to determine the share of costs for international telephone calls using translators and associated junctions. The translators discriminate a number of cost areas and are surveyed with the junctions in cyclic operation and if occupied a cost counter is activated. An urban arrival junction (1) is connected to a recorder search unit (2) and recorder (3). Occupation and identification wires (113,112) enter an exploration and control unit (100) when the explored translator (7) is connected to the junction and when the translator is occupied. The control unit contains a distribution circuit which connects with a calculator (200) containing a microprocessor and addressing circuits for cost areas and for the junctions thus enabling a cost counter to be incremented.
