The game concerns various deals and operations on the Stock Exchange and comprises a board marked out around the edges with compartments. These describe different operations requiring paying or receiving money. A pack of cards contains other instructions, which may be penalties or rewards. Players receive an initial sum of money and move their playing pieces over the board after throwing dice. Depending on the compartment landed on, they may buy shares or bullion or be required to pay taxes, or obey the conditions on one of the cards. The proceeds may be mortgaged to the Bank at half value.
