The oil burner designed for improved combustion and reduction of soot, has a flame tube with entry holes for air at the rear. This is followed by a primary ignition jet and a secondary ignition arrangement. This secondary ignition arrangement is a set of air jets around the primary jet which slope so that their intersection point is ahead of the nozzle. The air fed to the flame tube is preheated, and an intense flame is formed, reaching a temperature of 1650 deg.C. The air supply is controlled by a sleeve around the rear air entry holes.
