The system includes wall panels, floor and roof slabs, transition beams for floor level joints and special parapet units incorporating gutters. The wall panels are cellular with octagonal form vertical cavities (2, 3) at regular horizontal intervals. The cavities are of uniform section, are open at both the top and bottom of the panel, and may be filled with insulating material or concrete and reinforcement forming substructural columns. The end cavities (3) may be of right octagonal section, and the intermediate cavities (2) of horizontally elongated octagonal form. Right trapezoidal channels (6) in the vertical panel edges may be used to form in situ concrete panel joints. A mechanical tie is provided by stirrups (12) passing through local edge holes (11) into the end cavity (3) to engage vertical bars (13, 14).
