The attachment is fitted to the side of a tractor cultivating the balk between rows of vines. The cultivating tool is automatically swung aside by a vine stem (3), returning after this is passed. It comprises an arm (2), with a plough-share (1) for cutting a straight furrow. A feeler arm (11) is mounted on the frame and is connected by a linkage (8, 9, 10, 12, 13) to a catch (7) holding the cultivator tool (4). This has several curved blades (5), one only cutting. When a stem swings the feeler arm aside, the catch is released. The tool is rotated by the soil resistance, the working blade avoiding the stem.
