The piece is used for playing draughts and chess outdoors. It is made from foam plastic or similar lightweight and weatherproof material and is sufficiently large to be easily moved. It is shaped as a truncated cone, the tip having a dome or other design, and is in two parts. Both together form the chess piece (1). The base 12, when removed, forms a flat circular piece for draughts. Both pieces (11, 12) are assembled by a recessed spring clip (2) underneath the upper portion, engaging a spherical head (3) on the draughts playing piece. This latter has a similar clip underneath, for combining pieces.
