Liquid flow meter is built of two disc shaped halves defining a toroidal channel of circular radial cross section in which a close fitting ball circulates with fluid flow. A monitoring device detects passage of the ball along the channel. Input and output ports (3, 4) provide near tangential fluid trajectories into and out of the toroidal channel and are built in respective ones of the disc-shaped parts so that, by careful juxtapositioning of the angular relationship therebetween, a precise control over the displacement between channel orifices may be obtained.
