The domestic bath is internally contoured for user comfort. The end wall (11) supporting the bather's back may slope at 40 deg. to the base which is in two zones (13) falling gently to a central water outlet (14). The base of the bath may be peripherally recessed (18) to accept a false floor panel (16). The longitudinal geometry of the bath and the false floor panel includes smooth transition curves (12) between the ramped lengths. The false floor panel (16) may be of an oval plan form, and be demountable. The panel may be of non-slip non-corrodible sheet material. The panel also includes draings holes, and the bath walls have ledges (22) for arm and head support.
