Window shutter with mosquito barrier - has inclined horizontal blades at vertical intervals with mesh between leading and trailing edges

The window shutter with several horizontally aligned and inclined blades (1) has insect barrier strips (9) between each blade. The blades are of the same cross-section and length are fixed at regular vertical intervals between vertical frame posts (10), and each have their major faces (1a) orientated at say 20 deg. to the vertical. The insect barrier strip is located horizontally between the leading and trailing edges of adjacent blades and serves to exclude mosquitos. The lateral extremities of the blades (1) are fixed in suitable slots (5) in the end posts (10), and the insect barrier strips may be stiffened by transverse undulations. The blades may be laminar with horizontal 'U' formations (u) on the leading and trailing edges to house the insect barrier edges. The barrier (9) may constitute a fine rigid mesh and blades (1) may take more complex forms with pivotable obturators.
