Cardboard hanger for plate display - has hole for plate bowl with selectively hinged radial flaps retaining plate flange and holding plate vertical

The cardboard hanger is esp. for the vending display of individual edge-flanged (5) plates (4) e.g. plates for serving food and provides for the suspension of the plate with the major faces vertical and predominantely visible. The hanger is a rectangular sheet of cardboard (1) with an opening (2) for the plate (4) a hole (22) for a wall hook and radial flaps (11 etc.) which secure the plate flange (5). The plate opening (2) is of a similar dia. to the plate bowl (4) centres on the certical sheet axis (14) but is offset below the horizontal sheet axis (6) and has inwardly projecting radial flaps (9, 11, 13 and 10, 12, 18) resp. which are arranged to give support to both the external and inner faces of the plate flange (5). The top flap (17) is definined by a horizontal necked hinge (20) which transverses the sheet (2). This flap (17) pivots for plate insertion and is held closed by the weight of the suspended plate.
