The cloths are composed of two half-cloths laid on one side and the other of the plate. They are fixed at the central hole of the plate either by screws or a joint in e.g. rubber between the two half cloths. When a cloth is perforated or clogged, the assembly has to be changed. It is necessary to remove only one half cloth, to change a perforated or clogged element, and no wear by abrasion is produced in the half cloths when the prod. arrives for filtering. The system allows for greater convenience in operation and reduces the time necessary to dismantle the press and reduc es wear of the cloths. The device can be used on all filter press plates available commercially, whatever the shape and dimensions of the centre hole.
