Recording paper for electrocardiograph - has preprinted normal traces for direct comparison with actual traces obtained from patient

A recording paper for electrocardiograph can be used at a speed of 2.5 cm per sec and with an apparatus sensitivity of 1 cm deflection per 1 mV. A trace on the paper can be read and interpreted directly. The recording paper has a width suited to the usual electrocardiograph. It has square graduations in millimeters. At regular intervals of 10 to 15 cm, a frame of 5 cm in length and containing a normal trace is pre-printed onto the paper. Next to the frames are recorded traces as obtained from the patient under investigation. A direct comparison of normal traces and traces from the patient can be made.
