Method of mfr. of a brilliant emulsion paint is claimed in which at least one mixing step to mix a pigment paste with a binder in aq. emulsion, is characterised in that after prepn. of the pigment paste on one hand and the binder on the other, the pigment paste is introduced into the binder, with agitation. The ratio of binder to pigment paste is =1 (1.5-3) and the mixing is effected slowly at ambient temp. in a mixer at 600-800 rpm so as not to break down the emulsion. The pigment is pref. a brilliant pigment, and the emulsion contains a vinyl versatate acrylate. The paint has improved brightness after application.
