Process comprises (a) distilling fermented must; (b) dehydrating azeotropic sepn. of the prod.; and (c) regenerating the entertainer used in the azeotropic sepn. The distillation column is operated under pressure so as to obtain a multiple effect heating o fthe dehydration and regenerations columns. The prod. is used in motor fuels and enables less Pb to be used in the fuel. The process, which enables the utilisation of waste sugar contg. agricultural materials, is economic in steam heating (about 70% of previous processes) and cooling water.
