The target aiming system for a gun in a turret has a sighting device controlled by a motor driven cam system. It operates in accordance with a firing table, and with a telemetering system with transmission and receiving paths. It has a deviating device tilted by a spherical joint on a support connected to the weapon. The line of sight is consequently kept within a vertical plane through the target. The deviation device is the objective of the optical sight, the reticule being fixed. The spherical joint is a carbon shaft with a rectilinear guide on a rotary axis.
