Optimum lift short takeoff aerofoil - has profile with trailing edge features generating optimum lift curves

The aerofoil has a main profile and a hinged flap for generating lift for short takeoff and landing distances. In addition to these requirements it also ensures optimum profile for requirements of the steady state flight. The main profile under face (5) has a profile for lift characteristics. The trailing edge flaps cover, in their retracted condition, the part (8) of the upper face of the main profile. The surface (8) forms, together with the leading section (5a) of the main profile an optimum profile form for travelling. The upper face (5) of the main profile has in the leading section (5a) a markedly convex curve and its trailing section (5b) has a relatively slight concave curve.
