Vertical arrays of removable elements (2) for mussel culture are suspended from a fixed or floating support. The elements (2) are hollow, tubular, and open-ended, and are threaded onto a central core 1) comprising a rigid member or a flexible cable. The central core (1) may be anchored at its lower end to the sea-bed. Stops may be provided along the core (1) to maintain the elements (2) at selected positions. The elements (2) may be connected together by hooking members (4), or simply piled on top of each other. Guide discs may be provided on the cable. The elements (2) are provided with holes (3) permitting the circulation of the sea.
