1491171 Pelletized glass batch FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 6 Feb 1976 [27 Feb 1975] 04677/76 Heading ClM Pelletized glass batch material is obtained by continuously feeding caustic soda solution and a dry admixture of the remaining constituents to a pelletizing device (e.g. a rotating inclined disc), forming pellets in the device and drying the pellets formed, the dry admixture comprising sand, sodium sulphate, dolomite of average particle size less than 16 microns and limestone of average particle size less than 250 microns. The caustic soda solution is preferably added to the dry materials while the solution is at 100-180‹ F. The pellets may be dried on a conveyer belt through which hot air is blown, the drying preferably taking not more than 1 hour. The dolomite preferably constitutes at least 10% by weight of the batch.
