In order to affect and register physiological processes in living beings, the function chamber consists of a polygonal frame system having mechanical guides for the floor, wall and ceiling elements and replaceable side walls (W) designed as functional modules, a cover (O) and a floor (U). Preferably, the functional modules contain electrical or mechanical measuring, regulating and control devices and are connected to the frame system electrically or mechanically by releasable contacts.
