Therapeutic compsns. contain as active ingredient (A) either 1-(2-allyloxyphenoxy)-3-isopropylaminopropan-2-ol (A1) or 1-4 4-(2-methoxyethyl)phenozy)-3-isopropylaminopropan-2-ol (A2) or one of their salts and (B) a benzodiazepine, esp., one of formula (I): (where R' is H or an opt. substd. aliphatic gp.; R2 is H or OH opt. esterified by an opt. substd. alkanoic acid; R3 is H or halo), or one of its salts. Pref. (B) is 7-chloro-1,3-dihydro-3-hydroxy-5-phenyl-2H-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-on- e (B1). Compsns. are useful for prophylactic and therapeutic treatment of anxiety and tension, esp., that associated with cardiovascular disorders. The benzodiazepine are minor tranquillisers; the aminopropanols protect the cardiovascular system aga against excessive adrenergic stimulation. A typical formulation comprised a coated tablet contg. in the nucleus 0.08g of cpd. A1 hydrochloride and 0.02 to 0.03 g of cpd. B1 in a point, the whole coated with a sugar coating.
