For dyeing mixed fabrics of carrier-free dyeable polyester fibres and wool with dispersion dyes and leuco vat ester dyes, the textile material is padded with an aqueous dyeing liquor containing the two dye classes and, after an intermediate drying, is thermosol-treated at temperatures of 160 DEG to 180 DEG C in order to fix the dispersion dye. After wet-developing the vat dye from the leuco-ester, the textile material thus treated is subjected to a brief passage through an aqueous bath, at 30 DEG to 40 DEG C, containing 5 to 10 ml/l of concentrated sulphuric acid and 0.2 to 0.5 g/l of sodium chlorite and is then exposed to skying at room temperature for up to 1 minute. The process may be carried out semi-continuously or continuously.
